Trap Ball Adventure

About

During the first quarter of 2025 I have began collaborating as a Level Designer in the development of Trap Ball Adventure, a 2.5D Platform and Adventure Game being developed by Axóuxere Games (A Coruña).

 

The game features an original jump mechanic, as well as levels full of puzzles and challenges designed with that mechanic in mind. My job, as a Level Designer, is to create these levels in a way that is appropriately challenging and fun for players.

My contribution

  • Documentation: Due to the increase in team size, it became necessary to begin documenting the already designed levels. As the team's new Level Designer, I took charge of this documentation, with the goal of also helping me become familiar with the project.

  • Level Design: During the documentation process for the already created levels, I made small changes and adjustments to maintain the original idea of ​​the levels, but with minor improvements. Once I finished documenting these initial phases, I began working with the rest of the team on the design and development of the new levels, primarily focusing on creating interesting puzzles and challenges for the player to overcome.

  • Game Design: Although I'm mainly involved in Level Design, as the project progresses, it becomes necessary to review the behavior of some existing enemies and traps, as well as design new obstacles that add variety to the Level Design. As a Designer, I'm also involved in this process of reviewing and designing new mechanics.

  • Programming: Thanks to my technical skills, as well as my experience programming on other projects, I'm also in charge of programming some of the new elements we're adding to the project. To do this, I'm spending time understanding the code already in the project, while also developing some of these new mechanics myself.
